Essential Knowledge of Proteins to Guide Pharmaceutical Industry

Knowledge of the properties of proteins right down to atomic level is essential for making it easier and faster for the pharmaceutical industry to manufacture protein-based drugs in liquid form. Over the next four years, a joint European project, PIPPI, will develop a public database with cutting-edge knowledge about the properties of proteins in pharmaceutical formulations. Mikael Lund will be leading the theoretical part at the Division of Theoretical Chemistry and two new PhD students will start in 2016.
